Haylage

Haylage is a type of forage that is made from fermented wet green fodder, usually grass or legumes. It is often used as animal feed, as it is high in nutrients and easy to digest. Haylage is also less likely to cause digestive problems than other types of hay, as the fermentation process breaks down many of the indigestible plant fibres. 

It’s also typically lower in dust and mould spores than hay, making it safer for animals with respiratory problems. Haylage should be fed in moderation, as it can cause weight gain if consumed in large quantities.
